Everyone once in a while, it all gets to be TOO MUCH....
he said muttering to himself with tears welling up but
refusing steadfastly to to the surface.
"Take it like a man - Big Boys don't cry..." he heard the
voice in his head say, hearing it in the tone of his own Dad.
The Family Court Judge banged down her gavel and said: "YOU sir need a lawyer...I'm not going to hear anything further from you on this subject...."
"WHY can't she just see what that evil $#@!@#$ of an ex-wife is doing to me!" As he stormed out of the Courtroom, as the Judge said: "Now Ms. Ex-wife Lawyer...what are your cots for this man wasting our time today?"
"$1500.00 between preparation and appearance your Honour"
said Ms. Ex-wife Lawyer..."
"So ordered - the father to pay to the mother's lawyer $1500.00 in costs before the next hearing..." said Her Honour...
But that dad never heard Her Honour, because he did not have
something that I had as he stormed past me outside the Courtroom Doors, ranting and raving to anyone who would listen (and nobody was listening to him because he looked a little bit dangerous he was so ANGRY...)
What he was suffering from was "Divorced Dad Syndrome".
The LOSING attitude. And it was affecting how he saw the world, related to people like the Children’s Lawyer and the Judge….
He felt defeated from the onset, because he had never learned how to manage his stress levels, let alone dissipate it. And today it was going to cost him everything….
The reason he never heard the Judge order costs, and was not
permitted to participate in the next hearing was this Dad did not have one key ingredient in his plan for Family Court - namely, he did not have a plan, nor did he have....
